Graham Potter does not want Chelsea to sign Manchester United wantaway Cristiano Ronaldo, despite Todd Boehly's close connection with his agent Jorge Mendes.
The Portuguese superstar, who eagerly pursued an exit from Old Trafford this summer, publicly attacked Manchester United in a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan this week.
Ronaldo claimed that he feels 'betrayed' by the Red Devils because the club executives and Erik ten Hag are trying to force him out.
But Sportsmail revealed on Monday that Mendes has touted Ronaldo to numerous European clubs including Chelsea, Newcastle Bayern Munich, Sporting Lisbon and Napoli, in a bid to secure his star client's exit from Old Trafford.
The 37-year-old is desperate to play in the Champions League once again, having become the tournament's all-time record goal-scorer ahead of PSG's in-form superstar Lionel Messi, who is now within just 11 goals on matching Ronaldo's tally of 140.
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has a close relationship with Mendes and was interested in Ronaldo this summer, but ex-Blues boss Thomas Tuchel quelled the move.
It is understood that Potter also does not want to sign the Manchester United veteran.
Despite his ability and career achievements to date, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has struggled to find a new suitor since requesting a transfer this summer.
Bayern Munich chief executive Oliver Khan confirmed in July that the Bundesliga giants had contemplated a swoop for Ronaldo, but ultimately decided he did not fit into the club’s ‘philosophy’.
Meanwhile, Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim admitted last month that his side would welcome Ronaldo back to the club, were in not for his extortionate £500,000-a-week wages.
