Frank Lampard has spoken of his delight that Mason Mount has earned an England recall – and hopes it is only a matter of time before Tammy Abraham gets one too.
Midfielder Mount was named in Gareth Southgate's latest squad on Thursday after an impressive start to the season in which he has started all three of Chelsea's league games and scored twice.
Manager Frank Lampard said: 'We're delighted for Mason. Great recognition. He had it at Derby but missed out with injury, so delighted he's got this chance again.
'It's a matter of time for Tammy, hopefully. I'm really, really pleased for Mason and Ross [Barkley], who is there as well.'
Mount's form has been one of the talking points of the season following his rapid adaptation to life in the Premier League so far.
Though Lampard is confident the 20 year-old can handle life in the spotlight.
He said: 'I'm not concerned about it. I spoke about this after Norwich. I'm confident in his strength of character, desire and hunger.
'Those things won't affect him. Everyone have to keep their feet on the ground – it's only the start for him in terms of his Chelsea career, but I'm confident he will.'

Lampard and Mount. Still a better love story than Sarri Jorginho and Rakitic Valverde

There will come a time when Mount, RLC, CHO, Tammy and Barkley are all part of the England national team
