Manchester City kick off their Premier League campaign away at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night, but Pep Guardiola was asked about the club's failed move for Barcelona star Lionel Messi in the build-up to their curtain raiser.
The Argentine ended up having to go back on his statement that he wanted to leave and will now remain at Barcelona for at least one more season.
"I don't need to explain anything. Leo explained it quite well I think and I don't have anything to add," Guardiola said during Friday's pre-match press conference.
"We don't have anything more to add.
"He is a football player for FC Barcelona - the club I love."
