Pep Guardiola is well on his way to breaking all the records that have been placed in front of him in the coaching world. His unprecedented domestic quadruple with Manchester City this season has taken his trophy tally to 27 since taking first charge at Barcelona in 2008/09.
His impressive total already has him placed as the fourth most decorated coach in history. Only Sir Alex Ferguson (48), Mircea Lucescu (32), and Valeriy Lobanovskyi (29) are ahead of him. It's true that the Catalan is still some way short of the Scot's total, but he's well on his way to achieving that figure after just 10 years in management.
At his current rate of 2.7 titles per season, he needs just eight more seasons to hit Ferguson's record.
A long career appears as though it would guarantee that he becomes the most decorated of all time, but he has no plans to go on as long as the ex-Manchester United boss did.
"I won't be coaching at 60 or 65," Guardiola admitted to NBC before.
The other most successful coaches
Nobody has more trophies than Sir Alex Ferguson. Forty-eight trophies in 38 seasons, and his legend began in his homeland. Since his Aberdeen side in 1984/85, nobody has broken the duopoly of Rangers and Celtic in Scotland.
At United it took him four years to lift silverware, but then he conquered everything, and his 13 Premier League titles allowed the Red Devils to overtake Liverpool at English football's summit.
Lucescu's 32 is also impressive and at 73, he shows no sign of retiring having taken charge of 14 clubs.
Lobanovskyi, meanwhile, passed away in his position as coach on May 7, 2002, suffering a strike at 63 years old.
But Guardiola is still hoping to surpass those greats above him, even having taken a sabbatical year in his decade on the bench. His start at Barcelona was phenomenal, claiming six trophies in his first season and leaving after having won 14.
Success has followed at Bayern Munich and Manchester City, winning three Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokals, a European Super Cup, and a Club World Cup in Bavaria, while he's already won two Premier Leagues in England, an FA Cup, two Carabao Cups and a Community Shield.

😂😂😂 give this guy the stupid d'or award.... its not about maths buddy.... its about where you start from and what you achieve... yes it took Ferguson 38season to hit 48 trophies but he always started with underdog teams... like its said apart from his Aberdeen side, nobody has ever managed to break the Celtic/ Rangers duopoly in Scotland.... he went to united when they were still a middle table club, and took four years to transform them to a credible trophies winners and he never looked back, going ahead to even knock Liverpool off their perch as the most successful English club with 18 league title.... he took united when they had 7 league titles, that was 11 behind Liverpool and went on to win another 13 to knock them off..... Pep yes he has done an incredible job but he always have had easy ride with already prominent and established clubs like Barca, Bayern and now City.... just like Eto said, "if pep couldn't win UCL with Bayern and Now city, then Mourinho who won it with Porto and Inter Milan deserves even more credit" (tsk tsk he even made Chelsea be who they are today, and stopped the All conquering Mighty Barcelona with both Milan and Real Madrid)....... live with that...😂😂😂😂😂
