VIKTOR GYOKERES claims he is as good as Erling Haaland and Harry Kane as his Arsenal transfer saga dragged on.
The striker, 27, on a “revenge” mission to cause Prem mayhem, has refused to train at Sporting, with Gunners £4.3million shy of a £69m valuation.
Asked if he was equal to Kane and Haaland, he said: “I’m definitely one of them.
"I am at the same table as them now. What I have managed to do at Sporting, I am convinced I can achieve anywhere.
“You haven’t seen the best of me yet.”
Sporting travelled to the Algarve for pre-season yesterday without the Sweden forward as club president Frederico Varandas fired a warning to Gyokeres, who is set to be fined for his no-show.
Gyokeres was coy about any summer move in an interview with French publication L’Equipe.
He added: “Maybe. That’s football, you never know. I don’t think about it, we’ll see what happens.
“The most important thing for me is to just play for a club that really wants me.”
And Varandas last night issued a strong statement over Gyokeres’ future.
He said: “We’re calm. Everything can be solved with the closure of the market, a heavy fine and an apology to the group.
“If they [Arsenal] don’t want to pay Viktor’s fair market value, we’ll be very comfortable with that for the next three years.
“If the geniuses who are devising this strategy think this puts pressure on me to make it easier for him to leave, not only are they completely wrong, but they are also making it more complicated for the player to leave.
“No one is above the interests of the club. Whoever they are.”
The Swede is determined to move to Arsenal despite interest from Manchester United, who have tried to sign him THREE times recently.
Gyokeres failed to make a single Prem appearance in three years at Brighton, then had two successful seasons with Coventry.
Asked about the Prem, he added: “It’s one of the biggest leagues in Europe.
“I spent several years there without being able to play a single match.
“So, of course, it’s something I’d like to do. It would be great revenge.”

I suggest Arsenal to go for Benjamin Sasco than Gyokeres. Sasco is more hard and hungrier than Gyokeres because I watch them both played.

Gyokeres should not start making his life difficult when he returned back to the Premier league. Let him not forget that he was in the Premier league and don't played games. We have seen the likes of Nunes who was at Benfica scoring 30 goals per season which Made Klop over pressed him above Haaland and end up being forgotten that he was once among the best strikers in the world his time at Benfica. So, don't be playing Portuguese league and term it as it is more hard than the Premier league. Just focus on your sporting team and wait Arsenal to send in his men's to sign you. No matter what you are still under contract with sporting and they can cause you your life in world football ⚽.

It’s easy to say he is as good as Kane and Haaland but he hasn’t play in the EPL yet, until he has at least 3 good goals scoring seasons in the Premier League then he is just another player , but he is entitled to his opinion

Gyokeres is a lion and every defense in the EPL must be shivering right now as roars and roars his way to the Emirates. The guy is a fighter and a bully in the front. I font think there is any #9 in Europe full of energy and confidence the kind or level of Gyokeres'. I love the guy and admire his confidence. I can't wait to see him compete with the likes of Isak and Halaand in the EPL next season.
