In this Premier League round, Brighton & Hove Albion secured a 2-0 away victory over Sunderland, despite Struijk being sent off in the second half. Speaking after the match, head coach Fabian Hürzeler stated that the players remained united to overcome difficulties and deserved the win.

On the difference in performance compared to the win against Arsenal

Hürzeler said: "Our performance today was different from the win against Arsenal because we were in a difficult situation and faced different challenges. Today, it was crucial for us to have a strong defensive mindset. I think we deserved this victory, and I must praise my players.

They stayed united throughout, facing whatever difficulties came their way together. They did the basics very well, which is crucial in such games, especially when playing with one man down."

On the league table standing

Hürzeler said: "The current league standing is not that important. What's important is that we believe in our abilities and continue to deliver such performances. We need to focus on our on-field performance and keep improving."

On Struijk's red card

Hürzeler said: "I haven't watched the replay yet. At the time, I thought the decision was too harsh. I need to review it before making a judgment. As I understand it, according to the standards explained to us, VAR only intervenes if there's a clear and obvious error. I didn't see a clear and obvious error in this decision."
