Haaland is 'living dream' with Salzburg as he plots Liverpool’s shock UCL exit

Erling Haaland says he is “living the dream” and is ready to make his breakthrough season even better by knocking Liverpool out of the Champions League.

‘We can go out in the game with a free mind. We have nothing to lose and we will go out there and enjoy ourselves, smile. It is the biggest game of my career so far,’ said the Norway international.

“It's lovely, to be honest. I'm living the dream. Matches like this are what you dream of so I am enjoying it. Pre-season was hard but since then I haven't looked back.

'I try to be mostly relaxed on the field and outside the field and in training bit you also have to be focused. I try to play my own game and enjoy the game.

'I am confident that we will score tomorrow. Liverpool are a fantastic team but Salzburg are also a fantastic team and we create a lot of chances and I am confident we will attack the game tomorrow and create more chances.‘

Haaland shot to prominence back in September when he scored a first half hat-trick against Genk in the opening match of Group E; he also scored at Anfield in a rollercoaster contest that finished 4-3 and that has led to his name being linked with Napoli, Bayern Munich and United.

He is being carefully supported by his father and is in no hurry to make a decision about what happens next.

‘I’m just focused on my job: playing football,’ said Haaland.’

'I try to enjoy what I do every day, and go in with a clear mindset and enjoy the moment right now. My focus now is on Salzburg and me as a player. It is not hard at all. I am enjoying every day playing football.

‘My father was a former player so he has been helping me but I also have a lot of friends who also help me in these situations and to try to keep doing what I am doing every week it is not easy but that's what I try to do. My father has been helping a lot.

‘The most important thing for me is the team spirit and how we work as a team. We have a very good spirit, you've seen that this year. It is important to have a good spirit.’
