Erling Haaland will be the most expensive Fantasy Premier League asset ever after his price rose for the 2024-25 season.

The Manchester City striker has been priced at £15million for the upcoming campaign, a £1m increase on his starting price for the 2023-24 season.

No player has ever been priced above £14m at the beginning of an FPL season, with Robin van Persie, Thierry Henry and Cristiano Ronaldo the only other players to have started at that value. Other big hitters include Mohamed Salah and Frank Lampard, who were priced at £13m.

Haaland scored 27 goals in 31 Premier League appearances last term, having scored a record 36 goals in 35 games the season before.

The Premier League, which runs FPL, has not yet revealed the official launch date for the 2024-25 version of the game, which last season saw almost 11 million teams registered.

Further player prices will be revealed throughout Thursday, with one player from each of the 20 Premier League clubs to be showcased.

As well as price reveals, the Premier League has said this season will bring “exciting new features that will change your strategies and make this a season like no other”. During the final few weeks of last season, the league launched FPL Challenge — a separate, weekly version of the game where users could pick a new team to match a different 'challenge' each gameweek.
