Haaland would have already won the Golden Boot in five Premier League seasons

Erling Haaland scored his 19th and 20th Premier League goals in Manchester City's 3-1 win over Leeds United on Wednesday evening - which means he'd have enough goals to win the Golden Boot in five different seasons.

The 22-year-old is undisputedly a goal machine. It took him one game in English football to settle into a devastating rhythm.

Haaland's only failed to score against Liverpool, Bournemouth and Brentford in games he's played since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

He's become the fastest player to hit 20 goals in Premier League history, managing it in just 14 games.

In that sensational run are three consecutive home hat-tricks against Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United.

The Norway international is already a lock for the Golden Boot. His closest contender is Harry Kane on 13, a fantastic tally at this stage of the campaign in its own right. It's not going to be enough to stop Haaland.

Despite it being December 29, Haaland would already have the Golden Boot sealed if you dropped him into five Premier League seasons.

He'd either be the winner outright or sharing it with other players. It's safe to say he'll score one more goal in the next 23 games, surely? Let's have a look at the seasons we'd already have our top scorer in.

1997-1998 - Chris Sutton (Blackburn Rovers), Dion Dublin (Coventry City), Michael Owen (Liverpool) - 18 goals

A three-way split here as a young Michael Owen burst onto the scene. Sutton was already a Premier League winner at this point and Dublin earned a move to Aston Villa on the back of this season.

1998-1999 - Michael Owen (Liverpool), Dwight Yorke (Manchester United), Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (Leeds United) - 18 goals

Owen kicked on at Anfield, managing to win the Golden Boot for a second year running. Yorke helped United to title glory as well as the FA Cup and Champions League. Hasselbaink's exploits saw him switch England for Spain in a £10 million move to Atletico Madrid.

2006-2007 - Didier Drogba (Chelsea) - 20 goals

Drogba's first Golden Boot is overshadowed by the fact Chelsea failed to win their third consecutive Premier League title under Jose Mourinho. He'd make up for it three years later.

2008-2009 - Nicolas Anelka (Chelsea) - 19 goals

Anelka played for six Premier League clubs but looked his most prolific at Stamford Bridge.

2010-2011 - Dimitar Berbatov (Manchester United), Carlos Tevez (Manchester City) - 20 goals

Berbatov was a man possessed at points in this season. A hat-trick against Liverpool and five against Blackburn Rovers stand out. Tevez, meanwhile, made a late sure to ensure the award was shared.
