Newcastle have been granted permission to field Chelsea loanee Lewis Hall against his parent club in the upcoming Carabao Cup clash.

The Magpies visit Stamford Bridge for Tuesday's quarter-final and the 19-year-old will be part of Eddie Howe's squad.

Current rules mean players are unable to play against their parent clubs in the Premier League or the FA Cup.

However, Carabao Cup rules dictate that loan players are allowed to play against their parent club provided permission has been granted by the team that owns him.

Newcastle have secured special dispensation to play the Cobham academy graduate against Chelsea.

It comes after he was ineligible to play against the Blues in the Toon's 4-1 win at St James' Park in the Premier League.

Hall, who scored in the 3-0 win at Manchester United in the last round, made 12 appearances for the Blues before his summer exit.
