Hannibal has said he is happy with all the experience he is getting at Manchester United but hopes to get another chance in the first team soon.
The exciting playmaker is one of several prospects to have made waves at youth level in recent years and has the potential to go far at United. Hannibal was named the Denzil Haroun Reserve Player of the Year for 2021 after picking up 10 assists and five goals and his form was rewarded when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handed him his senior debut on the final day of the season against Wolves.
Unfortunately, the Tunisian's progress at United has hit somewhat of a stumbling block this season as a combination of injuries and representing his country at two different international tournaments - great for his development in its own right - during the campaign has severely limited his playing time. Hannibal has played just 10 times for the youth teams and has been unable to add to his single first-team appearance.
Interim boss Ralf Rangnick is clearly a fan, however, as he promoted him to senior training on a permanent basis and has named the 19-year-old on the bench on four occasions. Hannibal is thankful for all that experience and is now looking for an opportunity to prove what he can do on the pitch.
“All the experience to gain, I'll take it, whether it be in training, on the bench or, even if I've not had the chance play yet, he told TN Sport while on international duty. "But maybe in the future… As soon as I get the chance, I'll take the experience I have and I'll show what I can do.”
Hannibal was then asked if Rangnick had given him a message ahead of jetting off to play for his nation in the current break. He replied: "Of course, he encourages us, because the more players that go to the World Cup, the better it is for the club, but no special message.”
