Harry Redknapp believes Lampard would be an ideal candidate for the England manager's job.
After a slow start to the season, Lampard has guided Coventry City back on track following their return to the Premier League. Redknapp naturally hopes Lampard can first help the team secure survival, and continue progressing in his managerial career beyond that.
Redknapp admitted that he hopes the FA will appoint an Englishman as the next England manager.
He has publicly backed Lampard for the so-called "nearly impossible job."
He said: "Of course. Lampard would be perfect. He won over a hundred caps for England. He knows what it's like to play in World Cups and European Championships. He's experienced it all, done it all.
"I'm sure that when this is over, we'll reconsider appointing an Englishman. I certainly hope so. Howe is also a candidate."
