Harry Redknapp described Gary Neville's view on Tottenham as 'absolute rubbish' as the pair's ongoing feud about the club shows no signs of subsiding.
Redknapp took issue with Neville's suggestion on Monday Night Football that Tottenham have been 'spineless and soft' but the pair have since ramped up the bad blood.
Early on Friday, Neville took to Twitter to post records and win percentages from his time at Valencia, Redknapp at QPR and again at Birmingham having seen his time in La Liga used by the former Tottenham manager earlier in the week.
Redknapp rarely bites his tongue and had no desire to let Neville have the final say and so the 71-year-old continued to voice his annoyance at the former Manchester United defender on the radio.
'To say that for 30 years Tottenham have been spineless, gutless, useless, disgraceful – that's absolute rubbish,' Redknapp repeated on Friday's Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.
'So now he's got to dig up that his win percentage was one per cent better than mine at QPR… I took over a QPR team that had already played 14 games in the Premier league and they had two wins, so it wasn't exactly taking over a world class team, you know?
'And at Birmingham I took over a team that had gone 25 games and only won one, that wasn't easy.
'My argument was about the Tottenham team I had, and I will not stand by and let someone come out with a statement like that when their facts are completely wrong.'
The feud came to life after Redknapp took issue with comments made by Neville about Tottenham after the defeat against Manchester City at Wembley.
In a heated debate with fellow pundit Jamie Carragher, Neville said: 'Tottenham for 30 years of our lives were spineless and soft, flaky, rubbish, you could be 2-0 down against them and think you would win 5-2.
'That's just the way they were. You knew that one little bump during the game and they would fall over it.'
Redknapp managed the club between 2008 and 2012 - he had a win percentage of 49 per cent, a figure omitted by Neville for the sake of his Twitter post - and having already hit back once on the radio, he wanted a second go after Neville's Twitter antics.
He added: 'He could say: "Yeah, but you didn't win anything. You got two fourth place finishes and the quarter-finals of the Champions League, but you didn't win anything".
'Well the present team have had four years [under Pochettino] and they haven't won anything either, but does it make them a bad team? No it doesn't! I love watching them and I love the manager.
'We all know Gary, he is an excellent pundit and was a great right-back, but he's opinionated and sometimes he goes over the top. He hasn't got his facts correct in this case and he should have thought a little bit more about what he was saying.
'Yet, he's not man enough to say: "Yeah I was wrong, I'll hold my hand up, that team Harry had was a good team".'

Wonder how Jamie feels about this back and forth between his dad & armchair coach, Neville.

As a Spurs supporter for 60 years,I'd say "spineless" is an insult.I think they've been obsessed with playing football with an over emphasis on style, ignoring the fact that sometime a team has to grind out a result by whatever means possible.Perhaps too many "fancy dans" have worn the Spurs shirt over the decades, but that's the style the fans favour.George Graham tried a different approach and the fans soon made their thoughts known. In fact the famous double team had a few tough guys in Mackay,Smith and Norman.Perhaps a few more of them wuld have seen us win a few trophies.

Neville was wrong - but Harry's reaction wasn't right neither - as Galas was spineless and even threatened to score own goal to get a move!!!! And then sat on half way line when Birmingham had a penalty which turned arsenal season.

Wow, hold up. Neville has managed in his entire managerial career, just the one team. In Spain. Valencia. The same Valencia Rafa took to the league title TWICE amongst Barca and Real Madrid. They were once the equivalent of Chelsea, to Real's Arsenal and Barca's Man Utd. When GN took over, they were middle of the table and then plummeted as his time showed no help. He was laughed out of the Mestalla, six pts from the drop, 14th after FOUR months, didn't get a win until his TENTH game!!. He hasn't done jack to warrant being compared to anyone because he had the worst Valencia win percentage. HR has taken on several teams, some with little hope, and he went in there, sleeves up, to get stuck in. GN goes AWOL after 16 weeks, and gets to come back to open up his trap like he's been manager for years. It's a no-brainer, GN should shut up. Especially against HR and ESPECIALLY with that wretched Valencia record he seems ignorant to be bleating on about.

Let's be real here. Replace the words Tottenham with Arsenal, nobody would've batted an eyelid. Most people would have agreed with him, and Arsenal have won the same number of trophies in 5 years than Tottenham in 30 years, while spending LESS. That's right, Arsenal spent less money than Tottenham in a 30 year period, look it up.

Spurs where bottom of the league when Harry took over so we all know what neville means but he over extradited his point. Harry had a very good team no doubt.

The Tiny Totts clearly don't like the truth.Yes they've had some top draw players but as a team they've always bottled it when push comes to shove.

Maybe Neville forgets spurs coming on the wrong side of some horrendous decisions against United over the years - Mendez goal at old Trafford being the worst of them , usually felt like we were playing 12 men at their place - - never had the financial clout to sign the players United could either tho they didn't mind taking flakey Carrick and Berbatov when it suited . Neville's comment borders on ridiculous arrogance and he can count himself to be fortunate to be surrounded by great players as he was the weak link in the United sides - just fergie liked his character n attitude . Remember seeing Ginola twist him in knots at WHL in 98, Neville sent off before half time .

Valencia are in the top 5 clubs in a league where the remaining clubs are a joke. Harry's record is decent with Tottenham, 50% win and QPR record is almost identical to Nevilles at Valencia. I would keep quiet if I was Neville. He's much more comfortable criticizing from the studio than doing it for real

The words may have been bit harsh, but in essence it's true. Rednap can bang on about his great spurs side, but they won nothing. They've won nothing for years and even this great spurs team have won nothing. When they have been in a great position, they always screw it up. I make him right.

I enjoy watching Spurs over the last 30 years and although Neville has gone over the top, there is accuracy to his statement in my view. Spurs generally buckled under pressure. Just my view, I'm a Forest fan and we've been sh@te over last 30 years except the odd year.

Why would a young man with strictly limited and not too good experience of football management, disrespect one of the games elder statesmen? Harry has been as clean as a whistle for years. Gary if you want a confrontation pick on someone from your own generation.

Snowflake Spurs can't take the criticism, look at the amount of flak Jose and Manchester United get on a weekly basis from Sky pundits. If Spurs want to think of themselves as a big club they'll have to harden up.

Neville just picked from Harry's record what suited his disrespect. Why didn't he include his Portsmouth and Spurs record? Sky is just giving this clowns the avenue to air their dislike for others. Just look at lineker or Henry. Not perfect but always humorous and friendly even in criticism.

Harry is 100% right. Neville is using out of context results completely unrelated to the main point he was making. You can't generalise about 30 years of Spurs history that way. Neville is wrong & he knows it.

To compare his only stats with two of Harry's worst is unfair. QPR and Birmingham were both worse before and after Harry got there. Valencia were better before Neville got there and improved dramatically when he left, to the point they are now gona go through to the knock out stages of CL. Compare spurs stats to valencia stats then see who comes out on top
