Harry Winks may move abroad in January as he looks to keep alive his chances of being selected for England's Euro 2020 squad.
The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder hasn't started a Premier League game for his club since the 1-1 draw against Newcastle United on September 27 and last enjoyed minutes in the league against West Ham United on October 18, when David Moyes' side came back from 3-0 down to score three late goals and snatch a dramatic point. He has missed out on four of the last top-flight matchday squads.
It has been a different story in the Europa League for the 24-year-old as he started five of Spurs' six group games in the competition and scored a ridiculous long-range goal against Ludogorets in November as Jose Mourinho's men progressed comfortably to the knockout stage and Winks also featured in all three of England's matches in November against the Republic of Ireland, Belgium and Iceland.
A number of Premier League teams are interested in signing Winks and SunSport understands that clubs in Italy and Spain are also monitoring the situation.
With Tottenham perched at the top of the league and Moussa Sissoko performing excellently as part of a strong midfield base alongside the unflappable Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Winks' opportunities to squeeze his way back into the Premier League starting XI are slim.
A loan move to LaLiga or Serie A could provide Winks with an opportunity to reignite his season in a sufficiently difficult league to impress Gareth Southgate.
A transfer to Europe would also benefit Spurs as Winks would not move to a direct rival in England.
Tottenham are currently level on points with Liverpool and face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday, while the Reds also make a trip to London as they play Fulham.
