Chelsea ace Eden Hazard is highly regarded as one of the best players around, and former Arsenal and England player Paul Merson has gone one better.

'I think Hazard is the best player in the Premier League by a long way,' Merson told Sky Sports, according to Metro.

He was heaping praise on the Belgian after his performance and wonder goal against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.

‘I don’t think anyone can do what he does and that’s what makes him better than everyone else in my opinion.

‘On Wednesday, he beat three players, passed it, got it back and then beat two more players before smashing it in the corner.

‘For me, no one else can do that in the Premier League. There are players who can go past people but they haven’t got that end product he’s got.’

Eden Hazard has featured in six games for Chelsea this season, and he's scored five goals and got two assists along the way. So far, he's leading the 2018/19 Premier League in goals scored, along with Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Hazard's status as one of the world's top players was secured earlier this month when he was named in the FIFPro World 11 2018, which is voted for my thousands of professional players and managers around the world.

He got in ahead of the likes of Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, who had a record breaking season in the Premier League last year. The only other Premier League players in the first 11 were his Chelsea team-mate N'golo Kante and Manchester United keeper David De Gea.

Chelsea are currently sitting in third in the Premier League table with five wins out of six games. They're just behind Manchester City on goal difference, and Liverpool who have won all their games so far.
