Thierry Henry has agreed to auction a special Arsenal shirt in order to raise funds for NHS charities in the fight against coronavirus.
The legendary French forward reached his century of Gunners goals against Birmingham City in the Premier League at St Andrew's back in 2003, with Robbie Savage - who played for the hosts at that time - recently revealing that the shirt Henry wore that day was in his possession.
Speaking on BT Sport's Early Kick Off show last week, Savage claimed that Henry initially did not know he had scored his 100th Arsenal goal following a post-match shirt swap and later asked for the jersey back, only for Savage to have quietly snuck away with it.
The former Welsh international offered to return the no14 home shirt which now sits in a frame, but Henry has agreed for it to be auctioned to raise funds for the NHS.
"So, Thierry Henry's 100th goal in an Arsenal shirt... I said last week on the show that I would give it him back," Savage said on Instagram.
"But after speaking with his representatives this week, we've all decided that the best thing to do in these unprecedented times would be to donate this shirt to the NHS Charities Together, which work with 250 NHS charities and are currently running the NHS Charities' Covid-19 Urgent Appeal.
"You can bid for this shirt and the proceeds will go to that charity."
Fans can bid for Henry's shirt on Ebay. At the time of writing, the shirt had received 20 bids, with the latest in excess of £2,000.

ah sorry I forgot
I agree that Shevchenko shouldn’t have won that one. It should have been Deco. The most important player on the best team in the world, the team that won the treble.

Which is exactly why I’m saying that Ballon Dor BELONGED to Deco. Shevchenko has nothing on Deco. Literally nothing.

i can even talk about last season vvd won club worldcup,UCl ,UCl supercup and leo messi only got laliga.why not VVD.For me balon d'or should be given to players according to their influence in the team, their contribution and impact in big games.Last year Vvd deserves to get balon d'or not just because of his trophies but also his influence and impact in that Liverpool side was amazing.
My point exactly. Deco was the most IMPORTANT part of the best team in the world in 03/04. So naturally after winning a treble he should’ve won the Ballon D’or. Cannavaro was the best player in the best national team in 2006 and the best player in his league. Again, that impact, why shouldn’t he win a Ballon D’or? Henry was more important to Arsenal than he was to France. Zidane was Frances best player at the 2006 World Cup, Arsenal didn’t win anything so Henry didn’t win the Ballon Dor. He is Messi with worse stats, Cannavaro is VVD but with a World Cup instead of a UCL. That is why Cannavaro won and Henry didn’t. Deco should’ve won because he was the best player for the best team in the world that conquered their league and Europe. What you are doing right now is using numbers to try and beat importance. Messi won the Ballon Dor BECAUSE his numbers were so incredibly good. Henry’s were not as good. If Messi has Henry’s numbers he wouldn’t have won the Ballon D’or. Probably shouldn’t of anyway. Because what REALLY matters is being important on the best teams. Like VVD was. Hence why the best players from teams that won major trophies got voted ahead of Henry. You’ve literally JUST agreed with me that numbers ARENT what’s important.

Micheal owen also won a balon dor without winning big trophies
Michael Owen is one of the most controversial winners ever. He wasn’t even voted the best player in that year. He was 8th on the list.

Also. Being the individual greatest player, does not qualify you for a ballon Dor. You have to have had the best year as a footballer. Play on the pitch, trophies, maybe records broken and all that. Henry was a BETTER footballer than Deco and Cannavaro, but he didn’t have a better year.

If having trophies and achievements doesn’t qualify you for Ballon D’ors why does anything? Goals and assists are just achievements. The Ballon D’or is based on the success of a player over a year. Individual success and overall success. If you are poor individually you don’t win, if you don’t have good overall success, you don’t win. You have to have both. Deco was universally voted the best player in 03/04. Until the Ballon D’or. So Henry was never going to win that one. Ever. Goals and assists are only a thing that gets measured for forwards. Deco was not a forward, but he was voted the best player in the world. Cannavaro, again, not a forward, goals and assists don’t matter. But he was TWICE voted the best player in 2006. Henry was amazing. But just because he had the numbers he had, equally just as you’ve said, doesn’t more qualify him for the Ballon Dor than people who achieved the highest heights in the game. Messi score over 50 goals last season, got over 20 assists and won La Liga. And yet people still believe Van Dijk should’ve won it for a UCL win. And those numbers from Messi are miles better than Henry’s that you’ve presented and Messi wasn’t up against a TREBLE winner OR a World Cup winner. The simple fact is Goals and Assists do NOT guarantee Ballon D’ors. Equally, neither do achievements because just like Deco, Snejder was robbed in 2010. Maybe Henry should’ve won in place of Nedved, that one as I’ve said this whole time seems reasonable. But Deco achieved more. Cannavaro achieved more. If Henry had won the Golden Ball at the World Cup, that May have been enough. Or if Arsenal had won the UCL maybe that would have been enough. But Lewadowski had numbers very similar to those you’ve presented from Henry last year, about 60 goals and assists and I think he came 8th. Which just goes to show, again, numbers alone don’t win ballon Dors. Unless they’re insane.
Henry didn't only got numbers his impact ,persona , scoring in important games was just amazing.yeah tophies are important and Henry have won trophies. But his impact was much more than nedved and shevchenko.

In 02/03 Nedved won Serie A and reached a UCL final being named Serie A player of the Year and in the UCL team of the year. That title would be taken away, but doesn’t change how good Nedved was. Also, Nedved lead Czech Republic to qualifying for the Euros in the following year. Henry could’ve won this one definitely, but Nedved was no slouch. 03/04 Henry NEVER stood a chance. Deco won a European Treble with Porto. He was UEFA Footballer and Midfielder of the year. Man of the Match in the UCL final and Portuguese Footballer of the year. Deco was the rightful winner in 2004, Shevchenko got it instead. Henry was never winning that one. Not a chance, not against the guy who just led PORTO to a European Treble. And Deco CAME SECOND. Anyone but Deco winning that year is pure robbery. Cannavaro captained Italy to the 2006 World Cup. Henry won nothing. That really is the difference there. Henry came close, but he didn’t win anything at all. And the Ballon D’or is only given to players who win nothing if every other competition was also unfortunate OR they did something TRULY spectacular, like Messi’s record breaking 91 goal year. Those are the facts. If good numbers alone won you Ballon D’ors Messi would probably have more, but no, because Ronaldo is an absolute WINNER, even if his numbers didn’t match Messi’s in a few years, his achievements were GREATER. Cannavaro won the World Cup, was named the second best player at the tournament behind Zidane, Won Serie A player of the year. Italian footballer of the Year. World footballer of the year. As Modric has proven, in World Cup years the World Cup matters more than anything else, Henry was good in it, Cannavaro was better AND Cannavaro got the title. If France had won the World Cup, Zidane May have won the Ballon Dor solely because he won the Golden Ball, that is how much the World Cup matters. Those are the facts. To win the Ballon D’or you need more than good numbers. Do i think Henry was good enough to win a Ballon Dor? Absolutely man was total class. Numbers only win the Ballon D’or if they are truly exceptional. Henry could’ve beaten Nedved as I said, but Deco won a Treble and Cannavaro won the World Cup. Henry simply didn’t.

Henry wasn’t even in the top three when Shevchenko won the Ballon D’or, so he wasn’t close to winning that one, Deco should’ve won that Ballon D’or. He won 4 trophies that year including the UCL as Portos best player. Ronaldinho was closer to winning that Ballon D’or so Henry wasn’t MUCH better than him that season. Nedveds year is totally possible, but you can’t discount Nedveds achievements that year either. And Buffon would have won Cannavaro’s Ballon D’or if not him. Italy won the World Cup. Makes sense their best players would be up high. Ronaldinho also only finished one place behind Henry that year, so much better? Again, not really true there. Henry was an amazing player but he was only MAYBE cheated out of a Ballon D’or once. Even if top spot didn’t deserve it in the other two years, second place definitely did.

he got robbed three times he used to score 30+ goals and also provide to many assist.
Henry was great. Ronaldinho was great. Ronaldo was great. Ronaldo’s goal to game ratio was better than everyone else’s by a mile. Ronaldinho was an attacking midfielder, similar to Coutinho. He had the best assist per game ratio. Henry was a bit of both. He was a good scorer and a good creator. Not as efficient as Ronaldo, but more creative. And not as creative as Ronaldo but a better finisher. All the players were good. It’s tough to say who was the best, but there is no way on earth that one player was way better than the rest.
