Thierry Henry has described the goal scored by Lionel Messi that made him think: 'That's not normal.'

The Monaco boss witnessed Messi's majesty first hand during his time as a strike-partner at Barcelona and spoke about a particularly memorable finish against Malaga.

'The best goal I've seen him score was against Malaga at home because that defied logic what he did,' Henry said in the new film new film ’Take The Ball, Pass The Ball’.

'Diagonal ball, he controls it on his chest, runs full speed.

'First player goes, second player is just behind. He takes another step, that player can clear the ball.

'If he's got the ball on his left foot here, how do you go back with that same leg and touch the ball in the air, in between the two to make sure that guy doesn't touch it - and then almost fail but smash it into the top corner. That's not normal.'

Henry left Arsenal for the Catalan side in 2007 and was evidently in awe of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

Of all the sensational goals score by the prolific Argentine, Henry selected the strike against Malaga as his favourite, though many prefer his Diego Maradona-esque mazy run against Getafe.

After his illustrious playing career, Henry is struggling in his debut management job with Monaco.

The 41-year-old has lost four and drawn two of his first six matches in charge of the principality club.
