After putting up unarguably his best Ghana performance in Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Ethiopia in the penultimate group game, Swindon Town goalkeeper Wollacott is expected to keep his place between the sticks for the Black Stars.
The Reading right-back had a poor game against Ethiopia but is still expected to be picked by Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac to start against South Africa. An exciting match-up with Percy Tau is on the cards.
The Reading fullback will likely be trusted to keep Keagan Dolly at bay from left-back position.
Amartey did not have a good game on Thursday but with his central defensive partner expected to change, the Leicester City player should produce a better performance at the heart of Ghana’s defence.
Missed the Ethiopia draw due to suspension but with Joseph Aidoo blowing away a chance to impress, with a mistake leading to conceding a goal, Strasbourg ace Djiku is expected to reclaim his place in the Black Stars central defence.
Baba suffered against the Walias, largely due to a lack of support, but will hope for a better day at the office on Sunday as he is likely to maintain his position as Ghana’s defensive midfielder.
With Thomas Partey all but absent due to injury and Mohammed Kudus failing to impress at No.8 against Ethiopia, China-based Wakaso could likely come into the starting side to shore things up in the middle.
After what was undoubtedly his worst performance in a Ghana shirt on Thursday, Kudus will be expected to lift his game against Bafana and return to his usual No.10 role on Sunday. He has scored in his last two games against South Africa.
Captain Andre Ayew could likely return to a right-wing spot against Bafana after starting the last game as a second striker.
Stade Rennes man Kamaldeen is yet to find his first goal for the Black Stars despite his stellar club form, but that elusive strike may come on Sunday as he is tipped to start against Bafana, from the left-wing.
Beitar Jerusalem striker Boakye-Yiadom failed to find the back of the net on his return to international football as Ghana missed good scoring chances against Ethiopia. Nonetheless, he may well keep his place in the first XI as a No.9, with Jordan Ayew seemingly out of favour.

Am Ghanaian but I wish them bad luck. This so called Black Star and it technical staff are really draining the country. The coastal belt need that money for sea defense project. they were told that to there is no money but they will spend huge money 💰💰 this useless team.

They are only squandering the country's money💰... This squad has nothing to offer... They should give away the point and sit back. I wish they lose tommorow`s game and let's all be free......
