How Haaland compares to Ronaldo, Messi and other iconic strikers at 21

ERLING HAALAND has an outstanding goalscoring record despite just being 21 - and it is even better than legendary duo Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The striker, 21, was finally unveiled as a Manchester City player this week after a deal was agreed last month.

He penned a five-year contract after arriving for £51million with Haaland's signing on fee and agents' fees in the region of £34m.

And it is easy to see why fans at the Etihad are expecting him to take the Premier League by storm due to his incredible goalscoring record.

The Norwegian, who was born in Leeds, started his career at Bryne before going on to shine at Molde, Salzburg and Dortmund and has scored 135 goals in 196 appearances ahead of his 22nd birthday on July 21.

Amazingly, that record puts Haaland ahead of a star-studded list of other deadly frontman who were already playing when they were his age.

SBK have conducted a study that shows Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku is the only Premier League man to come close to the new City superstar.

Before he turned 22 he had found the net 102 times, but his 0.39 goal per game ratio was nowhere near Haaland's 0.68.

Neymar, who was scoring every other game with a ratio of 0.50, comes in a close second to the hotshot with Lionel Messi narrowly behind with a ratio of 0.47.

And Sergio Aguero (0.4) is also up there ahead of fifth-place Lukaku.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo and fellow Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney were way down the list with a ratio of 0.23 and 0.33 respectively.

Current England skipper Harry Kane makes it into the top six with a ratio of 0.33 - ahead of Rooney - while Robin van Persie (0.25) is sandwiched between Wazza and CR7.

And another former Three Lions frontman makes it into the top ten, Newcastle and Blackburn icon Alan Shearer.

His 24 goals in 111 appearances meant he had a ratio of 0.21 - the same as Antoine Griezmann.
