Liverpool returned to Champions League action last night with Jurgen Klopp's side taking on Napoli in Italy.
The Reds kicked off their Premier League campaign in impressive fashion, winning all five of the games they have played in the division.
And it has now been confirmed how much Liverpool and the 31 other clubs involved in season's Champions League could earn in prize money.
There are 2.04 billion euros up for grabs for those participating in this season's competition, which will be split between the 32 participating teams, as well as those eliminated from the play-offs, and Super Cup qualifiers.
€30m will be distributed to those clubs involved in the UEFA Champions League play-offs.
Those who exit the competition will receive a fixed payment of €5m, while the winners won't be handed anything in terms of payments as they will instead receive money for participating in the group stage.
From there, the net revenue available to participating clubs will be divided into four different pillars:
25% will be allocated to the starting fees (€488m).
30% will be allocated to the performance-related fixed amounts (€585m).
30% will be distributed on the basis of ten-year performance-based coefficient rankings (€585m).
15% will be allocated to the variable amounts (market pool) (€292m).
The 32 clubs in the group stage can expect to receive an allocation of €15.25m, split into a down payment of €14.5m and a balance payment of €0.75m.
UEFA also introduced a new ranking system last season which is done on the basis of performances over a ten-year period.
As well as being ranked during this period clubs can also gain bonus points for winning the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
€585.05m will be divided into coefficient shares, with each share worth €1.108m.
The lowest-ranked team will receive one share (€1.108m). One share will be added to every rank and so the highest-ranked team will receive 32 shares (€35.46m).
Liverpool earned €111m for winning last season's competition, the highest ever collected by a team who have won the Champions League.
