How much would Declan Rice cost Man Utd or Chelsea?

Declan Rice is emerging as one of the finest midfielders in the Premier League with West Ham, and is already an automatic starter for the England national team, too.

The 23-year-old was in the Chelsea youth academy as a youngster before being released at the age of 14.

Thereafter, he was picked up by West Ham, and developed through the ranks, eventually becoming the vice-captain at just 22 for the 2021/22 campaign.

Rice has been strongly linked with a return to Chelsea as well as a move to Manchester United.

Should either of those sides attempt to sign him in the January transfer window mid-season, West Ham will play hardball and reportedly demand a world-record fee in the region of £200 million.

“There is interest, there is always interest, there are no bids. Let me just tell you this morning, it was made clear to me they wouldn’t sell Declan Rice in this window,” Jim White of talkSPORT explained.

“Not for £120m, not for £150m. It’s my understanding, I’m being serious, it would need to start with a two.

“You’re talking north of £200m, and the feeling from within West Ham United at this stage in the proceedings is that it’s so ridiculous it is not going to happen.”

What would Rice cost in the summer?

West Ham would be more willing to do business in the summer.

According to Manchester Evening News, the London side will demand a fee of £100m from any suitors for the club's star midfielder.
