Huddersfield Town have confirmed the signing of former Premier League title winner Danny Simpson in new boss Danny Cowley's first piece of transfer business.
The 32-year-old ex-Leicester man has joined the second tier outfit until the end of the season, having impressed the club's new management team during training sessions over the last fortnight.
In a statement on the club's website, Cowley said: 'We're very happy to welcome Danny to Huddersfield Town today.
'In his two weeks with us, we've seen first-hand his winning mentality and the leadership qualities he will add to our group.
'He's a fantastic defender who is great in one-on-one situations, as well as being positionally excellent. He will make a significant impact on the team this season.'
Simpson had departed Leicester after five successful years with the unlikely title winners from 2014/15, and boasts 213 Premier League appearances across four clubs.
He has also won promotion to the top flight on three separate occasions - with Sunderland in 2007, Newcastle in 2010 and Queens Park Rangers in 2014.
