Former Chelsea striker Demba Ba has revealed he had no sympathy for former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard after his costly slip five years ago.
The Senegal star was the beneficiary of Gerrard's misstep, going on to coolly slot the ball past Simon Mignolet and crush hopes of Liverpool's first top-flight title for 24 years.
The Reds are once again going to toe-to-toe for the Premier League crown with Manchester City this season, and they face the haunting prospect of a re-run of that infamous afternoon at Anfield when they take on Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
Ba has insisted he was just doing his job and therefore feels indifferent about Gerrard's title angst.
'I didn't feel sorry for him,' Ba told the Sun. 'I'm not a Steven Gerrard supporter. I'm not a Liverpool supporter.
'I'm not a Man City supporter or happy that they won the league.
'It's all part of the game. It's the same as Crystal Palace last year when they were safe and had nothing to play for, they went and played at Stoke and sent them down by winning. You go and do your job, you go to win.'
Chelsea's title challenge in 2014 was essentially over before their visit to Anfield following a shock home loss to Sunderland.
Liverpool meanwhile had won 11 matches on the spin and were widely tipped to lift the Premier League trophy after a 3-2 win over Manchester City.
But Jose Mourinho was determined to ruin the day for the Merseysiders, despite missing Eden Hazard, Petr Cech and John Terry.
In came Mark Schwarzer, Tomas Kalas, rookie Mohamed Salah and Ba himself - in what the Istanbul Basaksehir striker teasingly called a 'reserve team'.
He added: 'I would say he put the reserve team out. A lot of the players that started that day were not in the starting XI every week.
'So we went out like this, but he still expected us to win.
'He was very motivated to win that game.'

I feel sorry for all these Liverpool fans here saying who is Ba haha it's funny or should I say they still feel the pains but don't want to accept that it hurts so much, because for as long as there is a game called football and it's play in England as EPL Liverpool will never forget that man in their history you can confirm that with Gerrard.

This is the attitude we need to see. Fight, fight, fight from whistle to whistle. Never give up. Never quit. Win. Victory. Nothing less than victory. Never.

Why are the Chelsea fans and Madrid fans bothering about Liverpool? Totally nothing to play for? man city fans I will understand cos we are both challenging for the title. Even our fiercest rivals Man U fans cant be bothered cos they are worrying about their own team.

football is a reality game, It can go either way. It is sport that every player who file out are determined to win even when they don't have the capacity they hope for miracles. Draw is never OK, Loss is terrible Miracles still happen and it happened that day. Liverpool has all to loss but every players has something to play for (self honor, history). Everyone did their job has it is expected and there is no room to be sorry for that.

Chelsea 1st league title is in 1955 and their 2nd league title is in 2005. I lost count how many decades is that, that Chelsea fans had suffered and yet they are laughing at Liverpool without league title for 29 years. Pls worry about your club before talking about Liverpool.
