Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could not hide his disappointment after going from hero to zero in the space of a few minutes as Arsenal dramatically crashed out of the Europa League to Olympiacos.
The Gunners' talisman scored a sublime acrobatic effort in extra-time to put his side on the brink of progression, only for Arsenal to then concede and Aubameyang miss a gilt-edged chance with only the goalkeeper to beat.
After a deep cross from the right bounced off the back of an unsuspecting defender, Aubameyang was presented with the ball dropping to his feet, a mere six-yards out from goal. Reacting quickly he shaped to shoot for the bottom corner, only to put the ball around the wrong side of the post.
At the final whistle Aubameyang looked visibly emotional, before admitting to broadcasters BT Sport he was finding it all rather difficult to handle.
'[I am] Very very disappointed. What can I say. It’s very hard, very tough,' said Aubameyang.
'I think we missed putting some pace in the game, that cost us today. The last minute goal was unlucky for us.'
Aubameyang, who finished as joint top scorer in the Premier League in his debut season, is regarded as one of the world's best finishers and already has 19 goals to his name this campaign.
Trying to summarise the split-second moment, Aubameyang frankly admitted he could not comprehend how he was unable to take the chance.

'I don’t even know, I feel very very bad. But that can happen. I don’t know how I missed this chance. I was tired, I had some cramps but I had to score that goal,' he added.
'It was tough because they played very deep, it was hard to find the solutions in the final third. It was a really tough game and tough to find some space.
'We try to keep improving in the league and win as many games as possible and we’ll see what our chance to qualify is.'

Even if my fellow Arsenal fans has proved faithless time after time, I can at least retain a hope that this team will improve, support for them, and think kindly without frustration and disappointment. This Experience will make this team stronger than ever because after so many years of being not able to implement for the right direction now, I can see how things are going once again with all changes I am optimistic for the team to go forward nothing is in possible we can still qualify for the champions league place next year. Inshallah.

Aubameyang is the striker who should be playing in the champions league...but he's very unlucky...I felt very bad for him...he always save Arsenal in hard time but The defense lines include Leno also always mess things up when he score goal for the team

It's okay Pierre. These things happen in football. Even the best players in the world miss better chances than this. The world knows how prolific a scorer you are. Looking on the bright side, this miss should make you have a rethink in case you plan to leave at the end of this season as you now owe us one *smiles*
