Danny Rose said this week that he cannot wait to retire from football because of the racism which blights the modern game.
The Tottenham left back was among the England players targeted with racist abuse in Montenegro last month and he does not expect the situation to change when football's authorities continually fail to punish the offenders, or dish out tiny fines.
Sportsmail's CHRIS SUTTON reacts to Rose's comments below.
Danny Rose is being brutally honest about how he feels.
If that's the way he sees modern football after finding himself targeted by morons for the colour of his skin then it's understandable. Nobody deserves that sort of abuse.
He's also right about the fines dished out by the footballing authorities. They are pathetic, and even FIFA and UEFA must realise that.
Unfortunately, abuse in football has become part of the norm. Some people seem to think they can say whatever they want.
I suffered sectarian abuse while watching the Old Firm Derby between Celtic and Rangers in a London pub on Sunday, with a group of fans calling me a 'Fenian ****'.
Raheem Sterling is among those doing superb work to shine a light on racism. He's used social media to call it out and his celebration after scoring for England against Montenegro, when he put his hands over his ears, was brilliant.
We should rally behind Sterling, Rose and others who call it out.
The truth is, there is still a problem with racism in this country and other countries. It's a societal problem.
The goal is to try to stamp it out of our game as much and as quickly as we can.

Danny, don't quit! If you do you're letting them win. The best response is a spectacular performance and what really needs to be done is for UEFA and FIFA to address this matter properly.
Europeans are just racist and wish they can still buy black people as slaves . A pathetic continent filled with losers .

I don't understand why he listens to the idiots, he has made a success of his life getting paid a lot of money while the idiots calling racist chants are paying to watch him play, he has won in every sense, rise above them and be a good role model on the pitch and off it
