Ian Wright has claimed that PSG star Vitinha and Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne have the 'X-factor' that Arsenal desperately lacked against Bayern Munich.
The Gunners were eliminated from the Champions League by the German side after a 3-2 aggregate defeat. Joshua Kimmich scored the decisive goal at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.
While Arsenal were defensively sound throughout the majority of the tie, Mikel Arteta's side struggled for creativity. And Wright believes that two players in particular would have seen the Gunners into the semi-finals.
Speaking on the Wrighty’s House podcast, he said: “A player like Vitinha at Paris Saint-Germain. You know when you watch a team and you think: ‘You know something? He might do something’
“The first half [Odegaard produced] against Villa was one of the best performances I’ve seen from him for a long time and he’s been playing very well this season. I’m talking about someone with that bit of X-factor that we need. We’ve got a load of good players.”
Wright added: "Ben White today, I know he must be absolutely knackered, gone. For him to be going across to close down a guy with that much time, just in and around the box to cross it into a very dangerous area, where another load of our players were on their heels, it’s what we’ve got to learn.
“That’s why I will have patience with this team because they still have to learn those things. Then you do need, I don’t care what anyone says, someone with X-factor, someone with a Kevin De Bruyne vibe, they make something happen.”
Vitinha and De Bruyne have both been in excellent form this term. The former Wolves loanee has nine goals and five assists for PSG this term - a record that includes a strike in the French side’s comeback win against Barcelona.
De Bruyne missed the vast majority of the season with injury but has returned in excellent form. He has five goals and 14 appearances in just 18 outings in all competitions.
The Belgian playmaker was also on target in City’s last game - their Champions League elimination at the hands of Real Madrid. His strike had cancelled out Rodrygo’s early opener at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola's side went on to lose on penalties against the Spanish side. Ex-Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger scored the winning spot-kick for Real, who will now play Bayern Munich in the semi-finals.

I think coaches do mistakes when selecting players.kai havertz and tomiyasu were not to start that game even saka.saka looked tired and that guy has been playing many games and still having injury.kiwior and Rowe were in better position to play and nelson on right back .fresh legs sometimes is better and our coach arteta we love you bt try to trust players.when you look at gadiola.he brings fresh legs .I mean rotation.those guys were very tired.we have .partey.pablo viera and those are good players and they should play part in games .they are fresh coz they have not played many games.subtitution also should be done at the right time why do it with only 15 minutes remaing.

I agreed with Vitinha, but Debruyne, no. Debruyne is a flop, a serious flop.

Ajax won the champions League with a young, inexperienced but hungry team so you have no argument here,.. but i understand you needed to comment and feel good about yourself so fair play! 😂😂

I totally agree. I’m an Arsenal fan, okay let’s say someone like Bruno at man utd. A player in the middle like that. That just throw passes always and always get the winning goal when needed. It is not just a world class strike. We need an arrogant but still technically gifted creator in the middle. It creates a bond between the middle and the front three. I’m not saying Odegaard is not good, but you just feel something is missing you wish he had…

Useless analysis from pundits again, just because you played football before doesn't mean you are good with anything related to it.

English people always think everything is as superior as their language not understanding that football has no language but coaches, players and the ball for goals to be had , winning or loosing
