Ighalo reveals he takes inspiration from the direction & the size of Man Utd

Odion Ighalo has revealed he takes inspiration from the direction in which Manchester United are heading and the size of the club.

The on-loan Shanghai Shenhua striker is a boyhood United fan and also named the youngster emerging through the academy and the "structure" of club as reasons why he feels inspired at Old Trafford.

Ighalo hit the ground running under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after securing his dream loan move in January, now prompting talk that he could stay even longer at United.

And when asked what inspires him at United, he he told United's official website: “Wow, there is a lot, there is a lot.

"Seeing the club from the outside you don't know how big it is. But when you are inside you know how big the club is.

"I am inspired by the way the club is structured, I am inspired by the direction of the club, I am inspired by the development of the young players and how they are coming through from the grassroots to the first team.

"I am inspired by a lot of things at United, I am really inspired and I am looking forward to spending more time with the team.”

Ighalo then revealed his own personal motivation, the pre-match routine that he goes through before a match.

The Nigerian international listens to calming music to get him in the zone for a performance.

He added: “Well, before I go out on the pitch to play, I am just listening to my worship songs and listening to calm music that will keep me fresh, positive and thinking about the game. I like to listen to music, so I am relaxed and good to go.”

Ighalo had scored four goals in three United starts before the football season was postponed due to the spread of coronavirus.
