Incoming PSG boss Luis Enrique 'wants Chelsea loan flop Joao Felix'

Paris Saint-Germain are 'hoping to bring in Portuguese forward Joao Felix this summer.

The 23-year-old joined Chelsea on loan from Atletico Madrid and performed well at times, scoring four goals in a tough season for the Blues.

It was a far from perfect spell though, as Felix was sent off on his debut and missed a month on his short stay through suspension.

He joined Chelsea after struggling with Atleti boss Diego Simeone's negativity, and it now looks as though the forward will move again rather than returning to the Wanda Metropolitano.

According to Relevo, Luis Enrique wants to make Felix 'his first signing as PSG manager.'

They also report the Portugal international will not stay in Madrid next season, and that his agent Jorge Mendes is believed to have a good relationship with the club,

Enrique, who led Barcelona to the treble in 2015, is expected to be appointed as Christophe Galtier's successor at PSG in the coming days.

He most recently managed Spain but left the role after they were knocked out of the World Cup by Morocco.

If he did bring in Felix, it may help to fill a gap left by Lionel Messi's recent exit to Inter Miami.

The Argentine legend spoke of a 'break with the fans' at the end of his time in France and failed to match his best form, some of which had been shown under Enrique at Barca, but will still take some replacing.

Kylian Mbappe's future at PSG remains uncertain, with the club reportedly furious at the striker for refusing to move this summer or sign a contract extension.

He currently looks set to leave for free at the end of next season while pocketing a £78 million loyalty bonus.

One forward who may be more likely to hang around if Enrique does join is Neymar. The 31-year-old won seven trophies in three years under him at Barca, and both left the Nou Camp at the same time in 2017.
