Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani would prefer to buy Arsenal rather than Man United or Liverpool should he move into the business of football ownership, according to reports.
Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) put the Merseyside club up for sale last month after 12 years at the helm, while the Glazer family followed in their footsteps by putting United on the market just two weeks later.
The Glazers reportedly want as much as £9million to part ways with United - an affordable price for Ambani, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Ltd., who is believed to be worth around $90.7billion (£73.2m).
However, Ambani has his sights set on Arsenal as his preferred club if he does decide to buy a Premier League team, as reported to The Athletic.
Ambani's son Akash is a loyal Arsenal supporter, which appears to have tipped the scale in the favour of the north London outfit.
Despite coming under pressure in the recent past from Arsenal fans, Stan Kroenke has refused to sell, and has given no indication that he would be willing to relinquish control of the club.
Protests were held outside the Emirates Stadium in April 2021 after the failed European Super League project, which Arsenal were involved in.
Kroenke and his son Josh have also been accused of not showing enough interest in Arsenal in the past, with Stan also owning a number of sports teams back in the US including the LA Rams and Denver Nuggets.
Yet they have appeared to win some fans over the last 18 months having spent big in the last two summer transfer windows.
Arsenal splashed out £150m last year, bringing in Ben White and Martin Odegaard amongst others.
They then added some more high-profile players to their squad this summer, luring Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko away from Manchester City.
Their spending spree has paid off so far, with Mikel Arteta's men currently top of the Premier League by five points ahead of domestic football resuming on Boxing Day.
