Southampton trio Danny Ings, Charlie Austin and Jack Stephens have gathered together to help provide support for a local sports club in financial difficulty.

Redbridge Wanderers - who run teams for children aged 7-11 - were invited to Southampton's Staplewood training ground where they were surprised by the Saints trio.

But Ings, Austin and Stephens were not just on hand to greet the aspiring footballers who play only three miles away from the club's ground.

They also presented them with over £1,000 worth of equipment including bibs, shirts and balls.

The children thought they were there just to play a match but the Premier League players also took them for a warm-up and walked them out for their friendly as if they were the mascots.

They were also given free run of Southampton's indoor training facility.

Southampton are back in Premier League action on Saturday away to West Ham in the Premier League.

Their thrilling 3-3 draw with Bournemouth at St Mary's last week ensured Ralph Hasenhuttl's side maintained their Premier League status.

Southampton are currently 16th in the Premier League and round off their season with a home match against already-relegated Huddersfield.
