Vitorino Antunes has been one of the best players for Getafe this season, but the left-back will now be out for six to eight months.
He had to be stretchered off during his side's 2-2 draw with Real Valladolid on Sunday and it has been confirmed that the injury is an anterior cruciate ligament and lateral ligament issue in his right knee.
The 32-year-old Portuguese player will require surgery and will then begin the recovery process, with a return likely around the end of 2019.
