Lorenzo Insigne’s father has denied branding Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti a ‘flop’ after the Partenopei’s Europa League exit on Thursday evening.
Carmine Insigne reportedly made the remark as he walked out of the San Paolo, where Napoli were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal, having also watched his son substituted by Ancelotti.
However, he told CalcioNapoli24: “I want to make it clear that at the end of Napoli-Arsenal I didn’t give any interviews, nor did I speak to journalists.
“Words have been attributed to me that aren’t true and that I haven’t said. I never railed against Ancelotti. I wouldn’t dare.
“Lorenzo was disappointed with the exit from the Europa League, as we all are, it’s normal.
“Ancelotti himself pointed out that there was no problem between them. Substitutions are part of the game, as are whistles from the fans. However, it ends there.
“Like I’ve already said, Lorenzo loves Napoli, he’s proud to be captain and he’s very happy here.”

How brilliant of Ancelotpig to break up Napoli the whole Team by his own force! Please say sorry to Koulibaly and Allan who are willing to devote the most precious part of the career, and Please say sorry to Hamsik who had left without a Champion because of you the last straw, and Please say sorry to Mertens who is already 32, having contributed the most splendid stage of his own, All he has waiting for is a decent outstanding Champion Or some sorts of , and he failed although he is still making great contributions This season. He deserves a reward, still standing with Napoli and facing the risk to miss the last chance for greater platforms! All because of you the rubbish pink pig! This is the so-called Champion coach What we'd longed for ?If only bringing around a pig to take up would have possibly been better!
