Inter director Beppe Marotta insists their “offer was suited to the transfer value” of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku.
The Nerazzurri are believed to have offered €70m plus bonuses, but the asking price remains €85m cash.
“The club is strong, but we need to stay within certain parameters. The club has made big investments and we believe that we’re already at a good stage in the process,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
Marotta was asked specifically about the €85m Manchester United demands for centre-forward Lukaku.
“We are ready to pounce on opportunities, but prices are nowadays very high indeed. We made a strong offer, one that is valid and suited to the transfer value of the player and we were unable to conclude a deal.
“We’ll continue to monitor the situation and anything can happen on the market.”

As if you owns Lukaku , will you demand €70m if he were to be Inter Milan player , it seems how much you valued Perisic when Utd came calling last summer even at his advanced age ? So, pay €85m or forget it .
