Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp stated in an interview with the BBC earlier this week that his side can still succeed this season despite the summer spending of Chelsea and Manchester City.
Klopp appeared to take a swipe at the two Premier League sides for their lavish summer spending, but insisted working together on the training ground can be very important too. But have cracks begun to show in the German's demeanour?
Here,Β Sportsmail has spoken to body language expert Judi James to get her opinion on the Liverpool boss...
Jurgen Klopp uses the word 'calm' in this interview, suggesting there's no story in the way that Liverpool haven't been investing heavily this season like Chelsea and City, but his body language is largely incongruent during this interview, suggesting a sense of being more defensive than defiant.
His 'lockdown chic' physical appearance here, with a straggly, greying beard, furrowed brow and disheveled hair doesn't help, and his facial touch and partial beard-stroke gestures look like self-comfort rituals that suggest some awkwardness or anxiety.
Klopp performs eleven shrug gestures in one clip and those shrugs become more emphatic and one-shouldered in the other.
Shrugging can often suggest bravado rather than genuine calm and this shrug overkill could easily have given the suggestion of feigned indifference rather than the real thing.
Swinging round in a chair as Klopp does here will give the impression of anxiety or impatience and when he speak of other teams' signings Klopp switches from his normal friendly smile, displaying his perfect upper teeth, to baring his lower teeth.
That looks like a gesture of suppressed aggression or confrontation, suggesting that despite the verbal messages of 'no problem' he is perhaps sitting on some resentment or anger.

I really don't see Liverpool replicating such performance their put up last season..... The competition is intensifying

he knows that at all cost he can't defend the tittle as all know. they will do well definitely but don't expect free points like they have been taking from the likes of arsenal, Everton, Chelsea, manchester City and tottenham. the holes and blocked now and the situation is gonna be more tight. the winner will not make 90 points
This coming season, making 90 pts will be the Champions

Klupp cannot defend the title successfully without at least adding a new CB. VVD is the only reliable CB. Gomez & Matip are injury prone. An additional cover is imperative. The experience of ManC last season is a clear reference. L'pool must not repeat the same mistake. ManC also tried to convert a DM to CB, just as Klupp seems to be planning, but it did not work. It will also not work for L'pool. This is not a question of splashing cash. There must be some low cost but very decent options out there. The club has been successful in the past in digging out such delightful options. It can be done again now.
Plse check Gomez's history. He's injury prone, not as much as Matip though. With the flurry of matches in a shorter season it is suicidal to play with only 3 CBs. Ask ManC. l bet u we can't retain this title without a decent CB reinforcement following Lovren's departure. If we search thoroughly we would find a reasonably priced solution.

u were doing well until u said don't change a winning team ... thts accepting mediocrity..... we won 1 competition out of 5..to include community sheild... for me ... not good enuff..and. we won CL didn't reinvest . we all know what happened there. .. .... no such thing like A new signing.... its either a new signing or not.. mino has a far far way to go... keita needs lots more consistency. in his play... but not all abt signings there are some players tht needs to go.. we need to get rid of origi.. even if we don't sign .. but I wud bring bk ings in his stead.. or tht guy daka... we also need a proper #2.... adrian cost us 2 competitions last season don't trust him.... lfc is about 70 75,%.. where we want to b..... why u think Alex ferguson won z league almost every year. he signed likes of ferdinand. rooney tevez. van nistelroy.. cr7.. contona carrick berbatov. van der SAR all at different points after winning... all am saying always room for improvement

Manchester city spent less than 70 million this season on two players, is that what Klopp referred to as heavily spending by Manchester city. He is very stupid for start making fake excuses before even the start of the season.

What is happening to " In Klopp we trust", Liverpool fans shouldn't lose hope, Klopp isn't complaining neither should we, and even, the transfer window hasn't been closed, who knows if Thiago will join, even if he doesn't, we have players who're fighters. You don't change a winning team, Minamino is a new signing, Keita is like a new signing, it's all about the mentality, we're mentally tougher than any EPL team at the moment, relax and enjoy our boys doing it again.

My bet is on MC winning. They have address the defence problem and majority have played together 4 a long time. Chelsea and utd still have some inconsistency and that include new players integration . Arsenal is a dark horse but rely toouch on abamayang goals. Liverpool major players are in their prime. Not sure they have rooms for improvement but they already play at a high level and they have vast experience. But considering post covid 19 break form where every team are well rested, I think they won't repeat last season's winning charge.
