The Istanbul derby was marred by chaotic scenes on Friday night as Fenerbahce midfielder Jailson was chased off the pitch after scoring a sensational equaliser against bitter rivals Galatasaray.
Three players were sent off in total as the final whistle was met by a mass brawl among both sets of players at the Turk Telekom Arena.
Goal from Ryan Donk and Martin Linnes gave Galatasaray a two-goal lead but Fenerbahce fought back through Mathieu Valbuena and Jailson to earn a 2-2 draw before tempers flared at full-time.
Galatasaray's Badou Ndiaye, on loan from Stoke, Fenerbahce's ex-Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado and Jailson were all given their marching orders following the melee.
Jailson appeared to taunt the home supporters in celebration at his equaliser, a stunning effort from 25 yards. He cupped his ears after scoring and at full-time he felt the wrath of Galatasaray's players.
Most of the squad came charging onto the pitch with a beeline for the Brazilian midfielder. After being on the end of at least one aimed punch, the 23-year-old opted to remove himself from the situation and ran for the safety of the changing rooms.
However, as he tried to make his escape, large swathes of Galatasaray players followed and chased him off the pitch in a sprinting frenzy.
Images showed Ndiaye, who was relegated to the Championship with the Potters last season, with his hands firmly around the throat of Jailson Siqueira of Fenerbahce before he received his marching orders.
Soldado, who is yet to score in eight appearances this season, was also in the thick of the action and could be seen grasping the neck of Younes Belhanda.
Former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel was also heavily involved in the skirmish with the veteran Slovakian also taking a swipe at Belhanda, the Moroccan international.
The hostility could also been found in the stands as supporters clashed with stadium stewards and riot police as they tried to get involved.
A supporter successfully made it onto the pitch at full-time as well but was swiftly tackled to the ground by a mix of police and stewards.

This is the worst season Fenerbahce had in the history. Yet Galatasaray couldn't win and this made them angry after the match. They haven't been able to beat Fener in 20 years in Fenerbahce's stadium. I don't know when it's gonna end.

Gala's entere team should be ban. They have no right to attack jailson, its the FA to charge the play if he misbehave. Jailson shouldn't be sent off he was trying to defend himself.

Such a classy game! Far too much money involved in this sport these days, that it's just become one big pantomime.

I love this part of the game. It's entertaining and as long as nobody is seriously hurt. Besides these guys hate each other more than any other derby. If they were bigger in terms of European prestige it would be one of the biggest games in the world

Who remembers when Emre was racist to Zakora and the whole Trabzonspor team basically ended any chance of Emre having kids in the future lol.... That was the first time I thought Turkish football was awesome. The whole team no matter which background backed their player and dished out revenge. It was gruesome to say the least lol.
