According to Milannews.it, Milan is getting closer to appointing Glasner as their new coach, with a two-year contract plus an option for a one-season extension.

Raymondi revealed on Italia 1's "SportMediaset" program that Cardinale wants to finalize the technical director first. However, Rangnick's takeover would be very difficult. The German still has a renewal offer from the Austrian national team and has set very strict conditions, requiring everything to be written into the contract.

So far, the strongest and yet unfulfilled demand is Rangnick's desire for absolute autonomy; he does not want any interference, especially not from Ibrahimović. It is now up to Cardinale to make a decision, but if the Swede's role in management is not reduced, it will be very difficult for Rangnick to join Milan.

If Rangnick ultimately does not come, Milan has three other candidates: former Fenerbahçe sporting director Devin Özek, Christoph Freund who is still under contract with Bayern Munich, and Ramón Planes, who previously served as sporting director for Tottenham and Barcelona and is supported by Ibrahimović. However, regardless of who takes over the management, Glasner is expected to become Milan's new head coach.
