Former Lazio, Udinese, Fiorentina, Valencia and Italy player Stefano Fiore has pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter.
The creative midfielder, now 43, worked out a plea bargain with prosecutors for a suspended sentence of one year and 11 months.
Leggo newspaper explains it relates to a car accident that occurred in Rome on April 16, 2017 on the Via Flaminia.
This crash involved five different vehicles, prompting 12 injuries and the death of a 22-year-old.
According to the prosecution, Fiore caused the accident by speeding and not maintaining a safe distance from the car in front.
