'It's a circus of a club' - Sagna slams Arsenal ahead of Man City showdown

Former Arsenal full-back Bacary Sagna has slammed his old club and said that it has become a 'circus'.

Sagna who made 285 appearances in seven years for the club says the club needs to get a manager in after what has been a tricky period for his former side.

The former French international was speaking to Sky Sports on Super Sunday ahead of the Gunners' clash with another of his former clubs, Manchester City.

'Well it seems like at the minute it's a circus of a club' he told presenter David Jones.

'You don't really know who is leading and who is taking the decisions and it seems like the players have a lack of confidence on the pitch.

'Then you don't even know who is going to be the next manager and it's a tricky, tricky situation for club.

'First of all they need to find a good manager stability in the club because in the past years you always have players leaving at the end of the season and it's been a long time since they kept the same group of players.

'And once we have the manager in a few days I think they will start a new process and hopefully a good start to shine again.'

Arsenal currently sit in ninth place in the Premier League ahead of today's clash with Manchester City.

Their victory against West Ham on Monday, was their first league victory in eight games since a 1-0 win over Bournemouth at the start of October.

Talk has been surrounding whether the current Arsenal team is strong enough to compete, but Sagna says that the current team could compete in a few years.

He said: 'You still have great players like Mesut Ozil and Pepe, people talk about bad defending but I think it's a lack of confidence why they're not performing and yes the players are young, if they keep the same players for few years will be a really good team.'

Fellow Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness added: 'I think getting goals is good for Arsenal. The goalkeeper is good, but the midfield to back four is a major problem and something the new manager would have to look at.'
