It could seem as though this unexpected break has come at the best possible time for James Rodriguez and although the circumstances are far from ideal, it could be seen as a chance for him to regain his fitness and move on from a tricky 2019/20.
But that's not the case and with no Copa America this summer his transfer value could well plummet.
It's clear that James has no place at Real Madrid and he's going to leave this summer, but he won't command the kind of fee Los Blancos want.
Not only because of his lack of minutes, but because of the financial impact of the coronavirus on football.
Zinedine Zidane's arrival changed everything for James at Madrid and he hasn't been the same under the Frenchman as he was before he took the job.
He went on loan to Bayern Munich and was happy again, but then he had to return to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu despite his summer flirtation with Napoli.
A lot has changed for the Colombian and indeed football, so it's hard to now how much James is worth now.

James is my favorite player at Madrid after Asensio. But, he is not the same James that used to be in 2016/17 anymore. So, he may be 40-60 million player. James should go to Wolves/ United/ Everton, may be Juve because James is better than all Juve midfielder combined.

James went from a hero to zero and still fighting to let the football world knows he isn't done yet.
