Bolton legend Jussi Jaaskelainen had extra reason to celebrate on his 44th birthday as 20-year-old son Will was handed his professional debut in goal for Crewe Alexandra against Yeovil.
Jaaskelainen Jr, who was on the books of his dad's former club as a youngster, signed for Crewe in August 2017 and has had to patiently wait for his senior bow.
The League Two club are currently 14th in League Two with four games of the season left, safe from relegation but also unlikely to challenge for the play-off places.
Father Jussi earned legendary status during a 15-season, 527-game spell with Bolton from 1997 until 2012.
Having joined from Vaasan Palloseura in his homeland for £100,000, Jaaskelainen Sr helped the club to promotion into the Premier League in 1998.
Having established himself as first choice under Sam Allardyce, the Finnish stopper played a key role in their UEFA Cup qualification in 2007 and earned several player of the year awards over the seasons.
Jaaskelainen Sr would also go on to make 56 appearances for the Finland national team during his lengthy career.
He would finally leave the club in 2012, moving on to West Ham where he would make 61 appearances in three seasons before ending his career at Wigan in 2017.
