Jack Wilshere is ready to end speculation over his future by signing a new deal with Arsenal.
Sportsmail revealed on Monday that the Gunners had made a breakthrough in talks with the England midfielder, news that was confirmed by Arsene Wenger on Tuesday.
And it is understood both parties are now extremely close to agreeing a three year contract for Wilshere to remain at the Emirates Stadium.
There is also expected to be an option for a further 12 months.
The news will come as a huge relief to fans who are desperate for Wilshere, an Arsenal academy graduate, to stay.
Wilshere looked almost certain to leave this summer after refusing to sign their original offer.
But having re-opened discussions, a deal is edging closer.
The England star is desperate to stay at the Emirates, but has far more lucrative offers on the table - in particularly from Wolves and Everton.

Is it becoz he is English thats why yu desperately want him at Arsenal?? even if he is playing sh*t football....this guy and Welbeck shd be playing for Wolves and Everton maybe....not Arsenal if we want to win anything... Arsenal should sign him and then sell him! make money out of him than for him to go fo nothing....but i dont mind letting him go fo free...he cozd more damage already...this Wenger boy!

I think Ramsey's contract is until 2019. But Arsenal should renew his contract now, Otherwise other clubs will try to sign him next season like the case of Sanchez

If Wilshere is good enough, how comes no good team come up for him. Gunners this is a sign that a player is not good. Despite the royalty of Messi, CR7, Neymar, Hazard etc, people still price them. No one is coming for ur players and u want to extend his contract. Let the winning atmosphere come back again. Let us not get used to mediocrity Gunners. Anyone else concerned about our chances of getting a new midfield if we keep Jack? Lot of players competing for 2 spots , and a few more competing for the third. Doubt elneny will go, xhaka has become one of our more important figures, Ramsey is currently having his best season in a long time, then you have the likes of ozil mkhi and iwobi competing for CAM. Though I can see iwobi loaned out and maybe even Ramsey sold if he doesn't want to commit. And AMN looks promising as well in the middle. Not much room for a new CM imo.

Wilshere is not welcomed in Arsenal. He plays without yielding results. Wenger should not negotiate anything for Arsenal again. Leave that to the coming coach. We must say bye to mediocrity to both players and coaches. Up Gunners!
