Jack Wilshere is set to open the door on his injury struggles at Arsenal and West Ham as he prepares to try and get back to his peak, starting from next season.
Wilshere, 27, suffered an injury-hit first campaign at the London Stadium and has seen his fitness criticised after a series of problems blighted long spells of his career.
But with plans to play on 'for as long as possible', a new behind-the-scenes documentary to be released next week will provide further insight into his toil.
'People don't realise,' Wilshere says in the doc. 'They see you get injured and they say "he's always injured, he's injury-prone, he's never going to be fit" but they don't realise what goes on behind closed doors.'
The documentary is produced by Athlete's Stance, a company who promise to bring 'stories straight from the athletes'. It will be released on Sportsmail on Tuesday.
Wilshere signed a three-year contract with West Ham last summer and despite problems with ankle injuries last season - a regular occurrence in his career - his eyes are not on the end of his time in football just yet.
'You should never give up,' Wilshere continues. 'I want to play for as long as possible.
'I do genuinely love football: it's my life, it's my kids' life, it's my family's life, we're a football family.
'My goal is to get back in the team and win as many games as possible. At the moment that is all I'm focused on.'

Let me put this into perspective- since Jack turned professional in 08, he has played 279 games in total. Spread that over 11years, you get 6.5 games a season. Now that's stealing an up and coming player's spot in the team. It's time to retire
It is actually nearer 25.5 games per season but your point is valid. In 11 years he has never managed a full season.

Crazy to think West Ham would take a chance on him after Andy Carroll

Of course he isn't going to retire, he will always get a minimum of 50k a week until the leech is 30 odd and can we blame him? I'd do the same fair play

I cannot believe someone is insane enough to pay him.

The documentary was due to be shown next week but has had to be delayed as he got injured during filming.

Why doesn't take half of his unworked for salary and pay back the season-ticket holders, TV subscription payers and sponsors who financed his freebie lifestyle.
