Philippe Coutinho's debut with Aston Villa saw him score a crucial equalising goal against Manchester United, yet this performance was overshadowed by the display of Jacob Ramsey in midfield.
Having been born in Birmingham in 2001, Ramsey has come up through the academy system at Villa Park, and he got the first goal in Villa's comeback against United, finishing well beyond David de Gea.
It was the culmination of a perfect box-to-box display, which drew a lot of praise from Steven Gerrard.
"In the first half we saw him a little out of position, and we told him," Gerrard declared.
"In the second he had the reaction we expected, he was outstanding. He was aggressive, he scored a goal and got an assists, you can't ask for more, he's a great boy and a great professional, he's going to be a great player but he still has a long way to go."
Debut by Dean Smith
Ramsey was actually given his senior debut by Dean Smith when Villa were in the Championship, he was aged just 17.
He has now made 47 appearances for the Villa senior team, and he already has scored more goals under Gerrard than he did with Smith.
"I saw many videos of Gerrard as a child, he was one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and that's what I want to become," Ramsey stated.
The player is also on England manager Gareth Southgate's radar having represented the national team from U18 to U21 level, and there is speculation that he could already be involved in the Three Lions' senior set up in March.
Sporting Family
Sport is prominent in the Ramsey family as his father Mark was a professional boxer, and his two brothers also play professional football - Aaron (18) plays for Cheltenham and Cole is in the Villa academy.
