Jadon Sancho took to social media shortly after Manchester United's draw with Leeds to tell fans how much he had 'missed' being on the scoresheet.
The 22-year-old was subbed on in the 59th minute of their Premier League clash with Leeds and scored an equaliser just 11 minutes later to earn Man United a point.
The goal meant a lot to Sancho - who has struggled to find his best form since moving to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund for £73million in July 2021.
Sancho was forced to take some time away from United and train on his own during and after the World Cup amid concerns over his mental and physical wellbeing.
He came back into the matchday squad after a three-month absence for the second leg of United's Carabao Cup tie against Nottingham Forest last week.
The England international was then called into action for United's Premier League clash with Leeds and found the back of the net.
Shortly after the game, Sancho took to Twitter to say: 'I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed this feeling! Team showed great character to stay in the game, we go again on the weekend'.
Sancho's former Dortmund team-mate and current England colleague was quick to respond to the Tweet by sharing a love heart emoji.
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was equally as proud of Sancho and couldn't help but heap praise on the 22-year-old after he scored at Old Trafford.
'He's all the way back,' said Ten Hag. 'I'm proud he did it. I'm backing him, the coaches are backing him, the team is backing but he has to do it by himself.
'It's in his own hands. If he wants, he can do it. I'm really enjoying seeing him playing the way he did with so much confidence and belief.
'We know he's a magnificent player. I think consistently he can have a big impact, but he has to work hard.'
The United boss finished by saying: 'It will motivate him to get more. I really enjoyed it, especially for him – it will strengthen him.'

Jadon Sancho was sent to train in the Netherlands by Erik ten Hag to recover physically and mentally. Then, he scored his first goal for Man United since September to rescue a point for Manchester United 🔥

Leeds caught us off-guard. They were on total adrenaline drive with their manager sacked. United should have prepared for this.

Ten Hag should accept the fact that Werghost is useless nd don't deserve a starting place in the team

Ten hag I think he wasn't thinking straight in the first half! why would he put rashford as right winger and leave litte Granacho as left winger to battle with Ayling. Ayling is obviously more powerful and experienced than him. So glad he came to his senses in the second half, not happy that the draw though, cos it would have been a win for man u.
