Leicester City have confirmed that James Maddison has signed a new four-year deal at the club.
Sportsmail revealed last month that the midfielder was close to finalising a new contract worth £100,000-a-week at the King Power Stadium.
The England international - who scored nine goals for the Foxes in 2019/20 - is expected to have doubled his salary with the new deal which signals the end of Manchester United's hopes of signing him this summer.
The Old Trafford club have a long-term interest in Maddison and would have been able to offer Champions League football, but the 23-year-old has chosen to extend his deal with the East Midlands side until 2024.
'I'm so happy to sign a new contract for this football club,' Maddison told the club's official website.
'It's an incredibly exciting time to be a Leicester City player with so many positive things happening on and off the pitch and I'm delighted to be part of that.
What we've achieved as a club this season is a huge step forward for us and I know there's so much more to come from this team.
'I've enjoyed every moment since joining Leicester City. The supporters have been incredible to me and we've a fantastic set of players in that dressing room who are determined to show what we're capable of doing together in both Europe and the Premier League next season.'
