Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was scathing of his former side after their 2-0 defeat at Everton, singling out two players in particular for critcism.
Goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin saw Everton secure their first Merseyside derby win since October 2010.
The result leaves a bitter taste two-fold for Liverpool with their title hopes severely damaged with four games left of the season.
Jurgen Klopp's side sit second in the table at present, three points behind Arsenal. However, third-place Manchester City have two games in hand on Liverpool and are only a point behind.
And reflecting on the visitors loss at Goodison Park, Carragher didn't hold back in attributing blame.
The first player to come in Carragher's crosshairs was Ibrahima Konate following Branthwaite's 27th-minute opener. During the build-up to the goal, Konate failed to stop a ball across the boss with an outstretched leg, much to Carragher's chargrin.
'How many times have Liverpool given free-kicks away? I mean, that is the name of the game for Everton,' the Sky Sports pundit said at half-time of the match.
'Everton have been fantastic, certainly with the set pieces, they've looked like scoring on every single one.
'The amount of times Liverpool have given fouls away in their own half and Konate, what is he doing?! He doesn't know where he is. He just sticks a leg out at it.
'But Everton definitely deserved to go in front and deserved to get a goal from a set piece.'
Konate was substituted just after the hour mark, but his team-mate Alexis Mac Allister played the full duration and frustrated Carragher with his midfield display.
'The naivety of Liverpool in terms of how you play a derby game. They got away with one with the penalty,' the 46-year-old said.
'Forget this game, whenever you come to Goodison as a Liverpool player, there's two rules that you'll always do: You don't give silly fouls away and get the crowd up, and you move the ball on quickly and don't let tackles come in.
'Mac Allister in midfield, who has been fantastic for Liverpool this season, he's given so many fouls away and he's taking too long on the ball and he's allowing people to tackle them and it lifts the crowd.'
All those connected with Liverpool will be demanding a response in performance when they travel to West Ham in the 12.30pm Premier League kick-off on Saturday afternoon.

Why did Klopp decide to play Jones continuously? Even as he's not making any impact on the pitch. We have Gravenberch & Endo all seated on the bench
Seriously i don't like that Jones he is slow to me

most of Liverpool players were very poor yesterday including vvd, mo, szobo, Darwin, Diaz,TAA, Robo, maka, Curtis and even the substitute wataru ...it would've been worse if the VAR didn't intervene for the penalty

why is Curtis Jones keep on starting,he's off right now
Amen. Why the hell does he start over Elliotte? I blame Klopp for that crap. If Klopp put out the right team we win that game . It’s frustrating. Gravenburch had a killer game, scored and is benched. Bloody hell Klopp.

When most first team players injured including Salah, Van dijk, Arnold and konate, the fringe players did very well. Klopp could have used all fringe players instead of putting first preference to players just recovered from injuries. I believe it could have been the up sad form from the fringe players. It’s a psychological issue, I think.
