Jamie Carragher has resumed his role as a football pundit for Sky Sports after his suspension for spitting at a car was lifted by the broadcaster.
Carragher appeared alongside Gary Neville on the 'Premier League Launch Show' on Tuesday and will resume full punditry duties when the 2018-19 season kicks off on Friday.
He was in jovial mood throughout the comprehensive preview show as he talked tactics with Brighton manager Chris Hughton, Manchester City defender Kyle Walker and Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves among others.
The former Liverpool stalwart was suspended until the end of the season back in March, after he was filmed spitting at a car carrying a 14-year-old girl and her father.
A video of the incident, which shows Carragher spitting through the man's window while driving, was published by The Mirror.
It left Carragher, 40, clinging on to his £1million job. But following a full and frank apology on Sky News in the immediate aftermath as well as sessions with renowned psychiatrist Steve Peters, as revealed by Sportsmail, the former defender has been reinstated to his role.
He conducted a comprehensive interview with Sky News the day after the footage emerged and fought back tears as he admitted his behaviour when he spat at the girl, who he has always claimed not to have seen, was 'disgusting'.
After being forced to watch the footage, Carragher said: 'A moment of madness which is difficult to explain.
'Watching those clips back it feels like an out of body thing - just that moment of madness for four or five seconds. No matter what the circumstances for anyone you can't ever behave like that. That is just unacceptable.
'My biggest regret is for the 14-year-old girl to be caught in the middle of it. That devastates me more than anything.
'I have a young daughter exactly the same age and if somebody had done that it's difficult for me to find the words to how I would react.'
Announcing their decision not to sack Carragher earlier this summer, Sky insisted he had taken the 'appropriate steps to make sure that the (road rage) incident will not be repeated'.
Carragher also spoke to the family, including the 14-year-old girl, after they themselves became the target of vitriol from fans. The father was warned by police widely criticised for using his mobile phone while driving.
Even so, the parents of the youngster said at the time that they did not want to see Carragher lose his position at Sky Sports and insisted he showed sincere remorse when contacting them to apologise.
Despite not being sacked by Sky, Carragher made a surprise return to punditry just three weeks after his suspension for Danish broadcaster TV3 Sport, who brought him in for their Champions League coverage.

Vulgar, unintelligible, inarticulate, this is a reflection of how little regard and esteem Sky have for their viewers. Do they really think there is anyone who wants him back.

Just shocked how this total poor excuse of a man should b allowed to work in football again but this is what the beautiful game has come to in today's day and age when this joke carries on like nothing's happened. Makes one want to throw up.

double standards from sky , other sports commentators have been sacked for comments of ie the late Eric Bristow , Andy Gray & Richard keys , Jamie public video spitting at a open car window with a girl sitting there , then the humblest of apologies and his promised rehabilitation , gets back on sky sports , imo shame shame

So if what you say off camera is "leaked" you get sacked despite several years service, but if you gob at someone out your car whilst driving you get ushered away for a few months and welcomed back? No integrity, no consistency in standards.

His nasty hateful face in that spitting video will be remembered for ever. Sky have messed up by getting him back. How can he criticise a ref or a player when he did that...vile!

He'll forever be remembered as that filthy bloke who spits on young girls, instead of the one club Liverpool legend.

Should not be allowed to come back... Sky are technically condoning his disgusting behaviour. This is an example why today's kids think they can get away with anything and it's ok!

I cannot quite believe that he's remained on Sky TV. More proof that those in control do not really give a damn.

Everyone gets angry when being taunted but very few would try to spit in someone's face as it is disgusting, just shows what type of person he must be. Also I'm sure he wasn't trying to spit in that young girls face, but he must've known she was there which makes it worse. Really disgraceful decision by Sky, they must be desperate

Who even bothers with these pre and post match punditry nonsense. Richard Keys and Andy Gray will never be replicated. Ironic how Andy got the boot for a bit of lad banter but Carra gets reinstated after his disgusting behaviour.

Sorry I know I will get red arrowed by Liverpool fans but the man spat at a child. Love watching this Liverpool team so it is nothing against the club I just think it is a step to far and he should not be allowed back on screen. Wrong message by sky

Anyone who is a parent of young children should boycott this show. He spat on a little girl, what an example to set to young people.

As a Liverpool fan what he did is disgusting and he should have been fired. The average Joe wouldn't be given any leeway.

I'd like it if we all didn't watch the game he is commentating on so sky would realise that what he did is repulsive, disrespectful and something that should not be tolerated. He's a public figure, front of house for sky. He can't possibly comment on anybody's behaviour on a football pitch anymore.

Sky have hit the low point now. They get rid of Gray, Atkinson et al for jokey humour, but spitting at a young lad is OK in there morals. Hypocrites
