Janssen admits he wouldn't change a thing about time at Spurs

Vincent Janssen has opened up on his time at Tottenham after ending a disastrous three-year spell at the club to join Mexican side C.F Monterrey and insisted he would do it all again.

Janssen spent the 2017/18 season on loan at Fenerbace, but believes he learnt a lot in north London and and was right to make the move.

He told De Telegraaf: 'The Tottenham chapter did not go the way we all wanted, but I think I would make the same choice if I had another chance.

'Apart from the lesser moments, I also learned a lot.'

The 25-year-old also felt that his Tottenham career hinged on some early missed opportunities that could have changed things.

'In the beginning I missed opportunities that I sometimes think afterwards: "if I had finished them, things could have turned out differently".

'Anyway, I’m not going to blame myself for that sort of thing. I have always given one hundred percent.'

'Many people think that life as a football player only consists of kicking a ball, but that is not the case. There is so much more involved.

'A lot of pressure, for example. And if you are not in a good time, it can sometimes be tough. That does not mean that I did not give a hundred percent that day.

'But you do end up in a situation where you have to deal with setbacks and that is not always easy when you embark on such a big adventure for the first time.

'I am now a lot more mature and I can process things more easily. I am really happy person here.

'I am really looking forward to playing again, to pay back the people here and to show them who Vincent Janssen is.'
