Javier Hernandez has handed in a transfer request at West Ham and is on the verge of joining Sevilla.
West Ham have been in talks with the La Liga side all week and are near to agreeing terms.
The current offer stands at £7million but West Ham are holding out for £8m for Hernandez, who has 12 months left on his contract.
The Mexican forward has accepted that he will struggle for regular game time this season following the arrival of club-record signing Sebastian Haller and Albian Ajeti.
It is understood Hernandez was in Seville on Friday to speak to the club about personal terms.
All parties are hopeful a deal can be concluded before Spain's transfer deadline of September 2.
It remains to be seen whether Hernandez will be included in West Ham's matchday squad for Saturday's home clash against Norwich.
