Jermaine Jenas claims Pochettino is in a 'different bracket' to Arsenal

The stock of former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is 'far higher' than Arsenal according to BT Sport pundit Jermaine Jenas.

Despite his previous links with Spurs, there have been reports suggesting that the Gunners are interested in hiring Pochettino as a replacement for Unai Emery.

However on BT Sport, Jenas said that Pochettino should look elsewhere when he is ready to take on a new job and that he doesn't think the vacancy at the Emirates Stadium is that attractive.

He said: 'Arsenal's a huge football club and I'm sure the wages would be great for Mauricio. I put myself in his shoes  though and would say his stock is far higher than that personally.

'I think the job he did at Tottenham puts him in another bracket. I think if I was Mauricio I'd be sat there going well I'll have six months off to recuperate and rest as I have been working non-stop for six years.

'Come the end of the season there's a good chance that Man Utd might ring the phone, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid.'

Emery was sacked as Arsenal manager following their 2-1 Europa League defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Since his sacking, a whole host of names have been rumoured to be on the Arsenal board's shortlist.

As well as Pochettino, Brendan Rodgers, Mikel Arteta, Patrick Vieira, Max Allegri and Nuno Espirito Santo have all been reported to be in the frame for the vacancy.

Jenas said: 'The Arsenal job I don't think is one that's attractive personally. Have they got the money to spend there's a lot of uncertainty there.

'Even this decision (to sack Emery) they've taken now feels like a knee jerk reaction. There doesn't seem to be any planning or direction to what they want in a manager in the first place.'
